Pregnant wife killed with bamboo pole, husband arrested in Savar

In Savar, after taking his pregnant wife Tania Akhter on a trip due to a marital dispute, her husband deliberately strangled her to death and left her in a secluded bamboo grove. The police have arrested the accused husband in this incident.
However, the mystery of the murder was only revealed after the arrest of her husband Sohag Molla (35), who had covered himself up after the murder. Dhaka District Additional Superintendent of Police (Savar Circle) Shahinur Kabir confirmed this information to the journalists present at a press conference at Savar Model Police Station on Sunday afternoon. Earlier, the police arrested the deceased's husband from Sadhupara in Ashulia on Saturday night.
The deceased, Tania Akhter, is the daughter of Nurul Haque of Baghanagar village under Araihazar police station in Narayanganj district. On the other hand, the arrested Sohag Molla is the son of Basher Ali Molla of Khidipur village under Sadar police station in Naogaon district. Both of them worked in a local garment factory in Ashulia.
The Additional Superintendent of Police said at the press conference that Tania Begum was living with her husband Sohag in Sadhu Para area of Ashulia. Tania also has a six-year-old daughter in her previous house. Tania's husband was also married before and he has that wife. Sohag was not happy after learning that Tania was four months pregnant. That is why a family feud started between Tania and Sohag. Sohag planned to kill Tania out of a family feud. As per the plan, on Wednesday (April 23), Sohag took Tania for a walk in Kaliakoir area of Birulia Union of Savar. Then he took her inside a bamboo grove, had physical intercourse with her and strangled her to death. Later, Sohag fled, leaving the half-naked body of the deceased behind.
The Superintendent of Police also said that on Friday (April 25) afternoon, locals found the woman's half-naked body and informed the police. Later, the police recovered the body and launched an investigation to unravel the mystery of the murder. At that time, the deceased's husband, Sohag, was taken into police custody for initial questioning. Then the killer husband confessed to the planned murder and narrated the incident.
