Police officer injured by scissors while intervening in family dispute in Panchbibi

A police officer was injured with a pair of scissors while attempting to resolve a family dispute in Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat. The incident occurred on Sunday at around 5:30 PM, after which the injured officer was admitted to the surgery department of Joypurhat General Hospital, confirmed Dr. Kazi Ismail Hossain.
The injured officer, Alamgir Kabir (29), is serving as a Sub-Inspector (SI) at Panchbibi Police Station.
Dr. Kazi Ismail Hossain, surgical consultant at the hospital, stated that SI Alamgir Kabir was brought in with scissor injuries and has since been treated. “His condition is now stable,” he added.
According to Panchbibi Police Station OC Md. Moinul Islam, police received an emergency call via 999 regarding a family conflict in Patabuka village. SI Alamgir Kabir was dispatched to mediate the situation. While questioning a person involved, the individual suddenly became agitated and attacked the officer with a pair of scissors. Locals intervened, prompting the assailant to flee the scene. The officer sustained injuries to his hand and leg before being taken to the hospital.
Superintendent of Police Muhammad Abdul Wahab visited SI Alamgir Kabir in the hospital and confirmed that legal proceedings would follow regarding the assault.
