People heave sigh of relief as Ghaghar-Bashbariya Road development nears completion

The development work on the Ghaghar-Bashbariya road in Kotalipara, Gopalganj, is nearing completion after a long delay. Residents of Kotalipara, Tungipara, and Nazirpur thanas expressed relief when the roadwork resumed after being stalled for an extended period.
When the first contractor halted the work, a new contractor was appointed in the 2022-23 fiscal year. However, some complications caused further delays. Under the supervision of Kotalipara Upazila Engineer Shafiul Azam, the project is now almost complete.
Local residents stated that the road connects people across three thanas, and its completion will bring relief to businesses, trade, and students' commutes.
Upazila Engineer Shafiul Azam said, “We are striving to overcome all obstacles and complete the development work so that people can be freed from their hardships.”
