Online casino agent arrested in Mujibnagar, gambling equipment recovered

The District Detective Branch (DB) has arrested an associate of online casino agent and mastermind Md. Murshid Alam alias Lipu Gazi from the garden house of the agent in Bishwanathpur village of Mujibnagar upazila in Meherpur. Various equipment and cash used in running online gambling were recovered during the raid. The arrested person has been identified as Md. Atiur Rahman alias Shishir (35).
He is a resident of Ward No. 4 of Gopalpur village of Mujibnagar upazila. His father is Md. Aminul Islam alias Amai and mother is Mosha. Fatema Khatun. According to the police, a raid was conducted at Lipu Gazi's garden house in Bishwanathpur village of Mujibnagar police station from 12:45 am to 6 am on Wednesday under the leadership of District DB in-charge Pradeep Kumar Sana. During the operation, the online casino agent and mastermind Murshid Alam alias Lipu Gazi.
Later, a search was conducted at Bagan Bari and two laptops, a tab, a mobile phone, two pen drives, two passports, a checkbook of Rupali Bank, a checkbook of Uttara Bank, 11 Visa cards of various domestic and foreign banks, a Visa card of RedotPay, a VIP card of CASINO MARINA COLOMBO, a motorcycle and 7,000 taka in cash were recovered.
A case has been registered at Mujibnagar Police Station under the relevant section of the Prevention of Gambling Act, 2012 in this incident.
