Non-formal education to be restructured to bring 4 crore people under literacy coverage: Bobby Hajjaj

State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj on Tuesday said,  non-formal education frameworks will be strengthened, restructured, and made outcome-oriented to extend literacy and practical skills to nearly four crore people who remain outside formal schooling.

He made the observations as the chief guest at a discussion and non-formal education award ceremony organized at the Bureau of Non-Formal Education (BNFE) auditorium in Tejgaon, Dhaka, marking International Literacy Day 2026.

Addressing the gathering, State Minister Bobby Hajjaj noted that approximately 22 percent of the country's population—amounting to nearly four crore individuals—remains deprived of formal institutional education.
