National Legal Aid Day was celebrated with colourful arrangements in Chapainawabganj with the theme ‘There is no joy in conflict,
compromise, brother, there is no worry when there is legal aid’ on Monday.
. The District Legal Aid Committee organized various programs to celebrate the day. Senior District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Aid Committee Md. Mizanur Rahman inaugurated the day by releasing
balloons and pigeons at the Chapainawabganj District Judge Court premises at 9 am.

Later, a procession started from the District Judge Court premises. It circled the important roads of the city and ended at the same place.
The rally was attended by the Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Md. Abdus Samad and various senior government officials of the district, among others.
After the rally, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room if the District Judge's Court. Senior District and Sessions Judge and
Chairman of the District Legal Aid Committee Md. Mizanur Rahman presided over the meeting. Member Secretary of the District Legal Aid Committee and District Legal Aid Officer Md. Abu Sayeed delivered the
welcome speech in the meeting.
In addition, the discussion meeting was addressed by Judge Md. Haider Ali Khondoker of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal, Chief Judicial Magistrate A.K.M. Jahangir Alam, Additional District Magistrate Md. Anisur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Abul Kalam Shahid, President of the Bar Association
Mohammad Ishaq, General Secretary Md. Mahmudul Islam Kanak, Public Prosecutor Abdul Odud, among others.
The meeting was moderated by Senior Judicial Magistrate Tahmina Khatun.
At the beginning of the discussion, two trial candidates named Md. Monirul Islam and Md. Sahida Khatun expressed their feelings about the legal services of the Legal Aid Office.
At the end of the discussion, Md. Yusuf Ali Emon and Mst. Bilkis Khatun were awarded the Best Panel Lawyer Crest.
A documentary film exhibition on legal aid provision was also organized.
All judges of the Chapainawabganj Judicial Division, district administration, district police, officials and employees of various
government and private departments and people employed in the legal profession participated in the program
It is mentioned that in order to ensure the fundamental rights of citizens, the District Legal Aid Provision Act was enacted in 2000 and Supreme Court, district, upazila and union legal aid committees were formed through that law. Legal Aid Day has been celebrated since 2013 to raise public awareness.
