Two children drown in Laksam

Two children drowned in Gunti village of Ward No. 8 of Laksam Municipality in Cumilla .
Their bodies were found in a nearby fish pond early Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Jihad (7), son of Md. Rubel of Majid Mia's house in Gunti village of Laksam Municipality, and Sabbir Hossain Mohin (9), son of Md. Ali of Haji's house in the same village.
Police and local sources said that the two of them had not been found since Monday afternoon. The family and people around them searched for them throughout the night but could not find them. This morning, when they saw their dead bodies floating in a nearby fish pond, they informed the police, and the police came and recovered the body and brought it to the police station.
In this regard, Laksham Police Station Officer OC Naznin Sultana said, "Upon receiving information this morning, we sent police to the fish pond in Gunti village, recovered the bodies and brought them to the police station. Two cases of accidental death have been filed by the two families."
