MP Shamim Kaiser inaugurates Tk 3 cr infrastructure projects in Gobindaganj

Construction work on two rural road development projects costing nearly BDT 3 crore has officially commenced in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha. Mohammad Shamim Kaiser Lincoln, Member of Parliament for the Gaibandha-4 constituency, inaugurated the projects as the chief guest by unveiling the foundational plaques in Gumaniganj Union on Tuesday afternoon.
The infrastructure work is being implemented by the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) under the Rural Infrastructure Development Project for the Greater Rangpur Region.
The project encompasses two key road segments: a 920-meter stretch along the Paragoyra Surveyors Market via Kudam Road costing Tk 1,88,15,897, and a 1,625-meter road section along Mirkuchi Madanthair Babanpur via Balupara Road costing Tk 1,01,16,577. Dhaka-based contracting firm MA Zaheer Ltd. has been awarded the contract to execute both developments.
The foundation-laying ceremony was attended by local leaders, officials, and party activists, including former Upazila Chairman Farooq Kabir Ahmed, Upazila BNP Convener Farooq Ahmed, Member Secretary Rezanul Habib Rafiq, Upazila Engineer Mahbubul Haque, Municipal BNP President Rabiul Kabir Manu, General Secretary Abu Jafar Lenin, and Organizational Secretary Mahidur Rahman Ranak. Other notable attendees included Abdul Mannan Sintu, Monowar Hossain Raju, Rafiqul Islam Rafiq, Mahtab Uddin Merchant, Arifuzzaman Royal, Motahar Ali, Abu Bakar, Ismail Hossain Siraji, Atiqur Rahman Ratan, Anwar Hossain Golap, Shahanur Islam Saddam, Syed Alamin Ronnie, and Monir Hossain Sarker, along with local dignitaries.
