Mobile court destroys five Bengali dredger machines, pipes in Mirzapur

A mobile court conducted a drive in Mirzapur, Tangail and destroyed five illegal Bengali dredger machines and 1,000 feet of pipes on Tuesday afternoon.
The mobile court was conducted by Upazila Executive Officer Ariful Islam.
Rasel, Liton Ghosh, Shahidul, Bajlu, Ananda and others from the area had been illegally extracting sand from the Dhaleshwari River in the Nagarpara area of Uarshi Union of the upazila for a long time using dredger machines. Upon receiving the information, the mobile court led by Upazila Executive Officer A.B.M. Ariful Islam conducted a drive. During this time, five Bengali dredgers and 1,000 feet of pipes for illegal sand extraction were destroyed.
Mirzapur UNO A.B.M. Ariful Islam said that a raid was conducted and 1,000 feet of pipes along with five dredgers were destroyed for illegally extracting sand using Bangla dredgers. He said that it was not possible to impose jail or fines as no one was found at the spot.
