A dialogue meeting of the Ashashuni Upazila Human Trafficking Prevention Committee was held on Tuesday at Upazila Parishad conference room under the "Ashshash" project implemented by Rupantar.

The meeting was presided over by UNO Krishna Roy, with the presence of members of the Human Trafficking Prevention Committee at both the upazila and union levels. The welcome speech was delivered by Upazila Women Affairs Officer and Committee Member Secretary Md. Saidul Islam.

The session was moderated by Ashshash Project Program Officer Dipti Roy, and discussions were held regarding the project's activities and the committee’s three-month action plan.During the meeting, UNO Krishna Roy emphasized the importance of taking effective measures to prevent human trafficking. She stated that all relevant departments and institutions must take integrated initiatives to combat human trafficking and raise public awareness. Additionally, discussions were held on the responsibilities of committee members and the necessary steps to ensure the protection of trafficking survivors.

Among the attendees were Shovonali UP Chairman Maulana Abu Bakar Siddiq, Youth Development Officer Sanjib Kumar Das, Upazila Education Officer Swapan Kumar Barman, Secondary Education Officer Md. Atiar Rahman, Press Club President GM Al Farooq, Bordaol UP Administrator Akhtar Farooq Billal, Ansar VDP Officer Arifa Khatun, and Ashashuni Dakhil Madrasa Superintendent Dr. Abul Hasan.

The overall management of the meeting was handled by Community Facilitator Kumarash Chandra Mondal. Notably, the Ashshash project is being implemented in Satkhira district by Rupantar with the support of the Embassy of Switzerland and Winrock International.
