 The historic May Day was observed in Munshiganj with due dignity and solemnity. 

On the occasion of the May Day’ and ‘National Occupational Health and Safety Day 2025’, a variety of programs were organized on Thursday by the District Administration and the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE), Munshiganj. This year’s theme was: “Workers and employers unite to rebuild the nation.”The day’s formal inauguration took place at 9:00 AM at the District Shilpakala Academy premises, where Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Fatema-Tuz-Zohra officially opened the program by releasing balloons and pigeons. Following the inauguration, a colorful rally was brought out, participated in by officials and employees of the district administration and various government departments, as well as owners and workers from different institutions.Later, a discussion meeting was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Labour representatives, professionals, administrative officials, and civil society members took part in the meeting. In her speech, the Deputy Commissioner paid tribute to the sacrifices of workers during the great Liberation War and the July Mass Uprising. She emphasized the importance of workers’ rights, safe workplaces, and occupational health and safety. She also highlighted the need for public awareness at all levels of society to ensure workers’ welfare and the creation of a secure working environment.Additionally, the Munshiganj district administration joined the national program held in the presence of the Honorable Chief Adviser virtually, and all attendees watched the event together.
