LGED, Primary Education Directorate's joint initiative : Five primary schools await inauguration in city

To create a conducive educational environment, ensure 100% enrollment, and foster the mental development of children, the construction and infrastructure development of 156 aesthetically pleasing primary school buildings with modern facilities are underway in Dhaka city and Purbachal under the "Establishment and Infrastructure Development of Government Primary Schools with Aesthetic Enhancement (1st Revised)" Project.
As part of this initiative, five new school buildings are ready for inauguration. These five schools collectively have 74 classrooms and 29 wash blocks.
The schools awaiting inauguration are: Azimpur Government Primary School, Uttara Khalilur Rahman Government Primary School, Wake-Up Government Primary School, Diabari Government Primary School in Mirpur, and Sutrapur Kobbadas Sardar Government Primary School.
The design and construction of these schools are being implemented by the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED). The schools are equipped with separate toilets for boys and girls, waiting rooms for parents, a Shaheed Minar, and other essential facilities.
Previously, on December 26, 2024, five government primary schools were inaugurated. These include: Lalkuthi Government Primary School adjacent to Mazar Road in Mirpur Section 1, Anand Niketan Government Primary School in Mirpur Section 7, Bhola Government Primary School adjacent to Dhaka Alatunnessa High School, Konapara Paradgar Mannan Government Primary School in Demra, and Munda Government Primary School adjacent to Masterbari Bazar-Atipara Road in Gulshan. Following the inauguration, student enrollment in these schools has significantly increased. Additionally, access to education, higher education opportunities, and the continuity of holistic development have contributed to reducing social disparities.
