Japanese professor meets DU VC

Professor Dr. Kojo Watanabe of Ehime University, Japan, met with Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam at his office on Monday,
Prof Dr. Anwar Hossain of the Department of Fisheries Science, Dhaka University, was present at the time.
During the meeting, they discussed the implementation of a project titled “Water Quality Monitoring and Purification Technology to Control Health Risks Due to Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in Dhaka Metropolitan Area” with financial and technical assistance from JICA. Dhaka University will act as the implementing institution for this project.
They also discussed the possibility of establishing an international collaborative research laboratory and a satellite office at Dhaka University to strengthen joint collaborative research activities between Dhaka University and Ehime University, Japan. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam thanked the guest for coming to Dhaka University and expressing deep interest in its education and research activities. He expressed his interest in working together with JICA and various Japanese universities to develop the education and research activities of Dhaka University.
Later, Prof Dr. Kojo Watanabe met with Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Mohammad Almojaddidi Alfesani at his office.
