Jamalganj Railway station in Joypurhat on to reopen after 16 years at State Minister Abdul Bari's initiative

Abdul Bari, State Minister in charge of the Ministry of Public Administration and Food, has said that the Jamalganj Railway Station in Akkelpur Upazila of Joypurhat will be reopened soon after being closed for 16 years.
He made this statement while addressing a public meeting organized at Jamalganj GTC intersection in Joypurhat around 11 am on Saturday (October 31) demanding the reopening of the station and the lifting of the closing down.
State Minister Abdul Bari said, "I have already spoken to the ministry. They have informed me that the railway sleepers of the station are damaged and the platform is low, which will be raised. In addition, it may not be possible for Dhaka-bound intercity trains to stop at Jamalganj station, because stopping at all stations does not have the main features of an intercity train; however, strong efforts will be made to stop trains going to Rajshahi or Khulna."
Akkelpur Upazila BNP President Kamruzzaman Kamal, General Secretary Arif Iftekhar Rana, Rukindipur Union BNP General Secretary Shahidul Akram Sohel, and Jamalganj Station Closing Down Councilor Babu Saudagar, also spoke.
