Islami Chhatra Shibir launches plantation campaign in Sharankhola

The Sharankhola Upazila North Branch of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir organized a tree plantation campaign and sapling distribution program at Khontakata Bazar field in Sharankhola upazila under Bagerhat district on Thursday.
Held under the slogan, "Let us plant at least one tree, one by one; may the fresh air of a green country touch everyone's life," the environmental initiative focused on distributing saplings of diverse tree species among students from five local educational institutions while raising awareness about ecological conservation, climate mitigation, and biodiversity protection.
Presided over by Hafez Masudur Rahman, President of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir Sharankhola Upazila North Branch, the event featured addresses by community leaders and educational heads, including former Chhatra Shibir presidents Gazi Imran and Soleman Gazi, Superintendent of Madinatul Ulum Dakhil Madrasa Maulana Abdur Rahim, Jamaat-e-Islami nominated candidate Maulana Alamgir Hossain, A.B.M. Abdus Sobahan, and Rakib Hasan Alvi.
Speakers emphasized that instilling tree care habits among young students plays a critical role in maintaining ecological balance and fostering environmental stewardship across coastal regions. Following the discussions, organizers distributed saplings to students.
