A meeting was held on the activities of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and microfinance on Tuesday at 11 am at DC's Conference Room.
Deputy Commissioner Md. Habib Ullah (Maruf) took an overall look at the activities of the NGO organizations in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner.
At this time, Deputy Director of Local Government Md. Mobarak Hossain, Senior Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate (Information and Complaints Branch) (Revenue and Housing Branch) Mehraj Sharmin, along with representatives of the NGO organizations of the district were present in the meeting.
Deputy Commissioner Md. Habib Ullah said that the poverty rate and malnutrition rate are very high in the hilly region, and the education rate is the lowest. He requested the NGOs to be engaged in public welfare work in the hilly regions, think a little about the hilly regions, your little thought can change the lives of some people in this region.
It can free the poor people from the horrors of poverty. For the development of the hilly regions, we need to identify the gaps and problems and work accordingly.
