Human chain demanding cancellation of lease of market in Rajarhat

Locals formed a human chain demanding cancellation of lease of Nazimkhan Market in Rajahat.
The conscious civic society Nazimkhan organized a human chain in front of Nazimkhan Union Parishad gate at 11 am on Sunday.
It is learned that on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, a cattle and goat market was held in Nazimkhan Market last Saturday. Although the market was supposed to charge 500 taka for each cow, instead of 1300 taka and 200 taka for each goat, 600 taka was collected. An examination of the receipts received from the vendors at the market showed that the space for the rent money in the receipts was empty.
When the matter spread on social media, the aggrieved locals organized this human chain and presented a memorandum. College teacher Khandaker Arif, school teacher Aminul Master, social worker Rawshan Ahmed, and others spoke at the human chain. Upazila Water Supply Officer Al Imran said that he is already aware of the matter and has instructed AC Land to take action as per the rules.
