Amtali Municipality is dumping garbage in the open area of Amtali, along the Patuakhali-Kuakata highway.
The environment is being polluted by the rotten odor. People on the road are going to shake their nose. The victims have demanded to remove the dirt.
It is learnt that the Amtali Municipality was established on August 28. In the last 20 years, the Amtali Municipality authorities have not been able to build a modern waste management dumping station. From that time, the municipality has been throwing dirt in various places and rivers in the city. The city's environment is extremely polluted. For the past three months, the municipality authorities started dumping in the Patuakhali-Kuakata highway at Amtali. It turned the dirt to the dirt. The environment of the area is being polluted due to dirt in the open. The odor has spread with the wind. People have to move asking their nose. At least 3,000 people travel on this highway every day on at least a few thousand vehicles.
Besides, there is a countryside around the bug. The village residents and people of the vehicles are living in a polluted environment. Locals complain that it is very difficult to live in the open space along the highway. The environment is polluted and spreading various diseases. They demanded the removed bug.
On Wednesday, Surjamin watched, the dirt on the road was united. People are shaking their nose. The windows and doors of the transport vehicle are being closed in the odor. The passengers of the car are shaking their nose. Also, dirt has been kept in the Wabada area and TNT of the municipality.
Local Liton Ghazi and Russell Mridha said, "The municipality authorities are very difficult to set the dirt on the highway." It is very difficult to live in the house in the smell of dirt. They demanded that the dirt be removed quickly.
Traveler Zia Uddin Jewel said that there is no modern waste management even though the municipality of the first class. Where the dirt is being dumped. The environment of the area is being polluted in extreme shape. In order to protect the environment, it is necessary to remove the dirt from the side of the road quickly.
Md. Zahidul Islam Zakir Mridha, a waste management inspector of Amtali Municipality, said that the modern waste management of the dirt is being kept along the dirt highway as there is no dumping station. He also said that blissing powder is provided in the dirt to prevent odor every day.
Amtali Municipal Administrative Officer Md. Mamunur Rashid said, if the dirt is removed, the smell will spread. Before the dirt was dumped in the river. Now the highway is being thrown. He added that at least 1 to 5 crore is required to build a dumping station of dirt. That amount is not allotted to the municipality. As a result, I cannot do the dumping station. Modern waste management dumping stations will be set up if the money is connected.
Environment activist Md. Hairaj Madhi said it was very bad on the Patuakhali-Kuakata highway. Every day, at least 5,000 people travel on the road. All people have to surround the odor. He also said that the rotten odor of the bugle is spreading around the air. It is infected with various diseases of the human body. He demanded the removal of the dirt bucket.
Amtali Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Chinmay Howlader said that air -carried disease can spread the organism in the smell of dirt. He also said that the flies spread in that place. This can lead to infectious diseases of the human body.
Amtali UNO Municipal Administrator Md. Roknuzzaman Khan said the matter will be discussed in the meeting and effective measures will be taken in this regard.
