Forest department seize drone in Sundarbans

The forest department seized a drone from a tourist in Sundarbans on Saturday (January 9).
Forest officials seized the drone from a water vessel named MV Tanguar Haor in Katka area of Sharankhola Range of East Division of Sundarbans.
Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Sundarbans East Division Muhammad Belayet Hossain said, “Sundarbans is a restricted forest zone. Flying drone is prohibited here without prior permission.”
“If anyone wants to use drone to take videos, then he/she has to take permission from the concerned ministry,” he added.
Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) Md Joynal Abedin, said, the ship entered into Sundarbans through Sharankhola this morning taking permission for two days. Meanwhile, the tourist flew the drone in Supti area of the forest. Later, forest personnel seized the drone and sent it to Abul Kalam, Acting Officer of Katka Reserve Forest.
