Father arrested for raping daughter in Narsingdi

Detective Branch Police have arrested father Md. Halim Mia (35) on charges of raping his daughter in Narsingdi.
Narsingdi Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Md. Ashiqur Rahman gave this information at a press conference at the Narsingdi Model Police Station office on Friday afternoon.
The arrested Halim Mia is the son of Siru Mia of Shilmandi village in Narsingdi Sadar Upazila. He is a rickshaw puller by profession.
The Additional Superintendent of Police said at the press conference that Halim has been married twice. The first wife has a son and a daughter and the second wife also has a son and a daughter. The second wife lives abroad for livelihood. Taking advantage of this, the pervert father Halim had been raping his 14-year-old minor daughter for a long time. After the rape, he would record the video of the incident on his mobile phone. After the matter came to light, Halim fled the house. Later, the victim's maternal uncle filed a case with the Narsingdi Model Police Station on September 4, accusing the murderer father Halim Mia under the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act and the Pornography Control Act.
He said that after filing the case, he was not found even after conducting raids in Narsingdi and Munshiganj to arrest him. Later, on September 14, the police learned from secret sources that he was staying in Gowainghat, Sylhet. He could not be arrested even after conducting a second raid there. Later, on September 17, the detective police traced his location in Chittagong. Later, he was arrested from the Maizbhandar Darbar Sharif area of Hathazari.
He further said that after learning about the operation being conducted to arrest Halim, he frequently changed his location. He also disguised himself to avoid arrest. But finally we caught him. He admitted the truth of the incident during the initial interrogation and he is remorseful for it. He will be sent to jail through the court.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Sajeeb Shahreen, Narsingdi Model Police Station OC A.R. M. Al Mamun, and DB OC Abul Kayes were present at the time.
