Engr Saidul Alam assumes as MD, CEO of Summit LNG Terminal Company

Engineer Md. Saidul Alam, a prominent marine and energy sector expert hailing from Chandpur district, assumed office as the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Summit LNG Terminal Company (Pvt.) Limited in July 2025.
Hailing from Kathabhanga village in Matlab North Upazila of Chandpur district, Engr. Saidul Alam brings over two decades of professional experience in global marine and energy operations. Prior to his elevation as MD and CEO, he served as the Terminal Manager at Summit LNG, overseeing offshore terminal operations and maintaining uninterrupted re-gasified LNG supply to the national grid since the inception of the Summit LNG Terminal project in Maheshkhali, Cox's Bazar, in 2018.
Engr. Alam completed his BSc in Marine Engineering from Bangladesh Marine Academy, followed by an MBA from Deakin University in Australia and an Advanced Diploma in Marine Engineering from the Singapore Maritime Academy (SMA). He holds a Class-1 Marine Engineer Officer certification from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and is a member of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) in London. Before joining Summit LNG, he held senior executive roles at international maritime firms in Singapore, including AOL Tankship Management Asia and Ocean Tankers.
Meanwhile, following temporary disruptions caused by adverse weather conditions, re-gasified natural gas supply from the Summit LNG Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) off the coast of Maheshkhali Island in Cox's Bazar successfully resumed on August 2026, bolstering national grid supply.
