An Assistant Platoon Commander (APC) of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party demonstrated an exemplary act of humanitarian service by coming to the aid of a critically ill elderly woman at the Chandina Upazila Health Complex premises in Cumilla on Wednesday.
While performing routine patrol duties under the scorching sun outside the hospital on Wednesday afternoon, Ansar APC Md. Al Mamun Sarkar noticed 80-year-old Shuriya Begum suffering from acute respiratory distress without immediate support.
Responding without delay, APC Mamun Sarkar escorted the elderly woman to the hospital's emergency department, arranged her admission following preliminary treatment by on-duty physicians, and personally procured the necessary prescribed medicines.
