Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Academy held a rigorous selection process on Thursday for selecting Embodied Ansar trainees from 17 districts across the Dhaka and Mymensingh ranges, adhering strictly to merit-based and transparent procedures.

Thousands of trained male youths who applied online gathered at the Yad Ali Parade Ground inside the Ansar and VDP Academy in Safipur, Gazipur, to participate in the physical and academic assessments. Candidates hailed from Dhaka, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Narsingdi, Manikganj, Munshiganj, Kishoreganj, Madaripur, Shariatpur, Faridpur, Rajbari, Gopalganj, Tangail, Mymensingh, Netrokona, Jamalpur, and Sherpur districts.

The multi-stage selection process began at dawn with initial physical height checks and preliminary medical screenings, followed by field endurance tests including running, push-ups, side jumps, and high jumps. Shortlisted candidates will undergo a final medical examination alongside written and viva voce evaluations to determine the final selection list, with successful applicants receiving official notifications via SMS.

All participating candidates were prerequisite-qualified volunteer members who had completed basic upazila or police station-level Ansar training, or advanced VDP/TDP courses. Academy officials highlighted that evaluating candidates strictly on merit and physical fitness will enhance the operational efficiency and professionalism of the force.

Following the conclusion of selection drives for the Khulna and Barishal ranges on Sunday, November 1, 2026, the newly selected recruits will undergo a comprehensive three-month basic training course. Upon successful completion, the trained personnel will be deployed to secure vital public and private installations, including airports, universities, and hospitals, while supporting national law enforcement efforts.
