Dhaka University Day will be celebrated on July 1, 2026. A preparatory meeting to celebrate the day was held on. Monday in Professor Abdul Matin Chowdhury Virtual Class Room.

The meeting reviewed the overall preparation and progress of various programs taken on the occasion of the day. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam presided over the meeting. It is worth noting that the educational activities of Dhaka University started on July 1, 1921.
Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Prof Dr. Abdus Salam, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Professor Dr. Mohammad Almojaddidi Alfesani, Treasurer Prof Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury and members of various sub-committees were present in the meeting.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam sought everyone's full cooperation in celebrating Dhaka University Day in a fair, peaceful and festive atmosphere. He called on everyone to work unitedly for the development of education and research, the preservation of a fair environment for education, and the enhancement of Dhaka University's reputation in the international arena.
It is mentioned that the theme of this year's University Day is 'Dhaka University in Restoration of Democracy and Higher Education'. On the occasion of the day, teachers, students, officers and employees will gather at Smriti Chirantan Chattar adjacent to the Vice-Chancellor's Building at 9:30 am on July 1, 2026. From there, at 9:45 am, a colorful procession will be taken out under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam. The procession will end at Payra Chattar in front of the Student-Teacher Center. At 10:00 am, the national flag, the flags of Dhaka University and the halls will be hoisted at Payra Chattar. During this time, the national anthem and the inaugural song will be played. At 10:30 am, a discussion meeting will be held at the Student-Teacher Center auditorium under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam.
A special commemorative commemorative plaque will be released to mark the day. In addition, arches will be constructed at various entrances of the university.
