The introductory meeting of the 31st batch of BBA of the Department of Banking and Insurance of Dhaka University was held on Tuesday at the Professor Abdullah Faruk Multipurpose Conference Hall of the Faculty of Business Studies.
Prof Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Treasurer of Dhaka University, was present as the chief guest at the event.
Chaired by Prof Dr. Hasina Sheikh, Chairperson of the Department of Banking and Insurance, the event was graced by Prof Dr. Mahmud Osman Imam, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, as the special guest. In addition, Prof Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam and Prof Dr. Abdullah Al Mahmud of the department also addressed the event.
Treasurer Prof Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury congratulated the new students and said, "You have got the opportunity to get admission in the most prestigious university of the country through tough competition. Despite various limitations, this university has a good reputation in education and research both at home and abroad.
This university has been playing a leading role in the socio-economic development of the country. This continuity must be continued. Students must play an effective role in building the new Bangladesh that we dream of after the July coup. He emphasized on the students becoming skilled to survive in the competitive world.
