Devastating fire : Seven cows burnt to ashes in Nilphamari

A family’s house, furniture and 7 cows were burnt to ashes in a terrible fire at around 9 pm on Thursday (May 15) in the village of Akhtpara in Itakhola Union of Nilphamari Sadar Upazila.
Locals said that suddenly a fire broke out in the cowshed of the house of village farmer Asadul Islam, which quickly spread to the family’s house. In this, two houses and the furniture in the house were burnt to ashes.
At that time, 7 cows in the cowshed died. It is believed that the fire started from a torch coil in the cowshed.
The affected farmer Asadul said in a tearful voice that he has suffered a loss of about 12 lakh taka. Now the family is in the open air.
Miyabaz Uddin, Senior Officer of Nilphamari Sadar Fire Service Station said that after receiving the information, a unit went to control the fire and saved the homes of 20 more families in the village. It is initially known that the fire started from a mosquito coil.
