State Minister for Land and Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin MP, today urged students, engineers, teachers, and citizens to dedicate themselves to public welfare and the construction of a prosperous, discrimination-free Bangladesh.

He made the call during a day-long series of public-welfare programs across Chittagong city and Hathazari on Thursday, before flying back to Dhaka to attend an important Cabinet meeting at the Bangladesh Secretariat.

Speaking as the chief guest at the first-year undergraduate orientation ceremony for the 2025-26 academic session at the Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) in the morning, the State Minister emphasized that securing admission to the university places the newcomers among the top tier of the nation’s meritocracy. He urged them to maintain a deeply research-oriented mindset to make their academic journeys meaningful.

During his address to the engineering students, Barrister Mir Helal highlighted the massive digital transformation within the Ministry of Land. He shared that most land services are now available on digital platforms, allowing citizens to pay land development tax, complete mutations, and access e-porcha services from the comfort of their homes using the 'Bhumi App'.

Following the university event, the State Minister attended a teacher training workshop and seminar organized by the Chittagong Noorani Talimul Quran Board, where he stated that moral education is irreplaceable in building a humane state and called upon teachers to play a proactive role in shaping the future generation. Later in the day, in his capacity as a Director of the Ziaur Rahman Foundation, he inaugurated a month-long tree plantation and distribution program at the research and farm-based campus of Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU). The drive was organized by the foundation's Chittagong division to mark the 45th martyrdom anniversary of the late President Ziaur Rahman.

The State Minister laid the foundation stone for the repair work of the Hathazari Fateyabad-Ramdashhat-Madunaghat road, an infrastructure project being implemented by the LGED Hathazari, which is expected to significantly boost local trade and connectivity.
