State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury paid a surprise visit to Nandail Upazila Health Complex in Mymensingh on Saturday to inspect the quality of healthcare services, treatment and overall facilities for its patients.

During the visit, he toured different wards and departments of the hospital and spoke with patients and their attendants to learn firsthand about the services being provided.

The state minister also gave necessary directives to doctors and hospital authorities to further improve the quality of healthcare services for people at the grassroots level.

According to the ministry, Yasser Khan Choudhury, who was elected from the Mymensingh-9 (Nandail) constituency, had earlier sent a demi-official (DO) letter to the health minister requesting the upgradation of the 51-bed Nandail Upazila Health Complex to a 101-bed hospital.

Following the request, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued a government order approving the upgradation of the hospital to 101 beds.

Local residents expressed hope that the surprise visit of the state minister and the planned expansion of the hospital's infrastructure and services would improve the quality of healthcare in the area.
