CCC mayor seeks active role of religious leaders in dengue prevention

The Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC), Dr. Shahadat Hossain, emphasized the importance of religious leaders in raising awareness about dengue prevention in Chattogram.
Speaking as the chief guest at a meeting titled "The Role of Religious Scholars in Dengue Prevention" held on Wednesday at the CCC Public Library Conference Hall, he made this call to action.
The mayor noted that if religious leaders spread dengue prevention messages in mosques and religious gatherings, the public would take these seriously. He urged that during Friday sermons, the importance of dengue prevention should be highlighted. Additionally, he called for religious leaders’ support in raising awareness about CCC’s free NS1 dengue testing service at Memon Hospital, enhanced mosquito control programs, and free HPV vaccine campaign.
After the meeting, Mayor Dr. Shahadat, along with religious scholars, distributed awareness leaflets in the Laldighi area.
