Cumilla Battalion (10 BGB) Commander Lt. Col. Mir Ali Ejaz confirmed this.
According to BGB sources, a total of 13 Bangladeshi citizens were detained by a patrol team of 10 BGB while illegally entering Bangladesh from India through the Golabari border area of Adarsh Sadar Upazila Panchthubi Union of Cumilla 10 BGB last night.
BGB said that BSF pushed 13 people into Bangladesh through the Golabari border under Cumilla 10 BGB. Among them, there are 3 men, 3 women and 7 children. They are Md. Jahidul Islam (37), son of the Ali Hossain of Clinicpara, Bhogdanga, Kurigram district, his wife Mosa. Mariam Begum (37) and their child Mosa. Jawa (09). Md. Mahabur Rahman, his wife Halima Khatun (25), his daughter Marufa (06) and son Alif of Nageshwari village of Nageshwari police station of the same district. Md. Shahjalal (35), his wife Mahmuda (30) of Naodapara area of Nageshwari police station and their four children Mamun (14), Munsur (08), Mominul (03) and Shahnaz (06).
During the initial interrogation, they said that they were forcibly pushed into Bangladesh by the BSF.
Cumilla Battalion (10 BGB) Commander Lt. Col. Mir Ali Ejaz said the detained Bangladeshi citizens are currently in the custody of the BGB. After verification, they will be handed over to the concerned district administration.
