Boro paddy, rice procurement drive inaugurated in Kurigram

The internal Boro paddy and rice collection campaign has been inaugurated this year in Chilmari, Kurigram. It was inaugurated by Upazila Executive Officer Sabuj Kumar Basak on Thursday afternoon. It is learned that like every year, 477 metric tons of paddy and 1441 metric tons of rice have been allocated as part of the internal Boro paddy and rice collection target in Chilmari, Kurigram this year.
The government price of Boro paddy has been fixed at Tk 36 per kg and the price of rice at Tk 49 per kg. Chilmari Upazila Executive Officer Sabuj Kumar Basak inaugurated the rice collection campaign by cutting the ribbon at the Chilmari food warehouse as the chief guest on Thursday.
Upazila Food Controller Alauddin Basu Mia, Upazila Acting Food Officer Amjad Hossain, Chilmari Upazila BNP former Vice President Saheb Ali, Upazila Rice Mills Association's Alhaj Hafizur Rahman and others were present at the time. On this day, 6 metric tons of rice from Messrs. Sonnet Husking Rice Mill was first collected.
