Bogra City Corporation announces first proposed budget of Tk 1,417.43 cr

The country's 13th city corporation, Bogra, has announced its first proposed budget of Tk 1,417.43 crore. The proposed budget estimates potential tax revenue of Tk 79.40 crore, which is almost double the Tk 40.66 crore of the previous fiscal year.
City Corporation Administrator M. R. Islam Swadhin presented the budget at a budget announcement ceremony held at the city's Shaheed Titu Auditorium on Sunday afternoon.
In his budget speech, he said that the allocation has been increased in various important sectors including education, health, medical services, tree plantation, waste management and removal, giving priority to the development of the newly formed Bogra City Corporation. At the same time, plans to implement various developmental programs aimed at improving the quality of citizen services and planned urban development have also been included in the budget.
It is mentioned that the nearly 150-year-old traditional Bogra Municipality was inaugurated as the country's 13th city corporation on April 20. In continuation of this, the first proposed budget of this newly formed city corporation was announced.
Bogura-6 MP Rezaul Karim Badsha, Bogra-4 MP Mosharraf Hossain, various officials of the City Corporation and prominent citizens of the city were present at the budget announcement ceremony.
