Shadow of mourning in Cumilla Dist Police: ASP Mohammad Saiful Malik passes away

Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Mohammad Saiful Malik of Comilla has passed away. (Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un). He breathed his last early Thursday morning while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka. He was an officer of the 34th BCS (Police) cadre.

Comilla Kotwali Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Touhidul Anwar stated that he passed away at 6:22 AM while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital.

According to district police sources, he suffered a brain stroke a few days ago. After initially receiving treatment at Comilla Modern Hospital, he was admitted to Green Life Hospital in Dhaka for advanced care and later transferred to Evercare Hospital. Following a surgical procedure there, he passed away around 6:00 AM today.

Mohammad Saiful Malik hailed from the Hajiganj upazila of Chandpur district. He was the son of valiant freedom fighter Abul Kalam. Born in 1981, Saiful Malik was a student of the 28th batch of the Department of Zoology at Jahangirnagar University. He joined the Bangladesh Police in 2016 as an officer of the 34th BCS cadre.

Following the July uprising, he joined as the Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) in Comilla on December 31, 2024.

Meanwhile, expressing deep sorrow over the untimely demise of Saiful Malik, Comilla Superintendent of Police Md. Anisuzzaman along with the district police conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of his departed soul.
