Body of man with throat slit recovered in Rangamati

Miscreants slit the throat of a transgender person named Shila in Betbunia of Kaukhali upazila of Rangamati district.
On Monday evening, around 7:30 pm, the police recovered his throat-slit body from his house in Betbunia union of the upazila.
It is learnt that the deceased Shila's father's house is in Hathazari, Chittagong. Shila was known as the leader of the transgender community in the upazila.
Kaukhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Saiful Islam Sohag confirmed the incident and said, "The body of a transgender person named Shila with her throat slit has been recovered. It is believed to be a murder. We have seized several evidences.
He said, there were signs of cutting with a sharp object on her throat and stomach. After the initial investigation and legal work, her body has been sent to the Rangamati Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy," he said.
