BNP worker injured in clash at brick kiln in Gafargaon dies

BNP worker Abu Sayeed (50), injured in clash at brick kiln in Gafargaon, Mymensingh, has died. He died while undergoing treatment at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital on Monday afternoon. The deceased Abu Sayeed is the son of former BNP ward president Shahab Uddin of Dergaon village in Usthi union of Pagla police station in the upazila. His family claims that Abu Sayeed himself was a BNP worker.
According to the family and police sources of the deceased, Abu Sayeed was injured in a clash over forcibly taking bricks from the MKD brick kiln in Dhairgaon area of Usthi union on November 18 last year. Later, his relatives admitted him to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital in a life-threatening condition. He died 2 months and 13 days later while undergoing treatment there. His family filed a case with Pagla police station at that time in this incident.
The deceased's father, Shahab Uddin, said that 7/8 people, including my son, were injured during a clash over ownership dispute at the MKD brick kiln. Abu Sayeed died while undergoing treatment at the hospital on Monday afternoon.
Incidentally, since August 5, there was a dispute over the ownership of a brick kiln belonging to a person named Golam Haider Khan in Dergaon village of Usthi Union. Later, on November 18, a bloody clash broke out between both sides.
Pagla Police Station OC Muhammad Ferdous Alam said that both sides filed a case with the police station in the clash. The body of Abu Sayeed, who died in the hospital, will be handed over to the family by the Kotwali Police Station after the postmortem. The previous case filed by Abu Sayeed's family will be converted into a murder case.
