Everyone must remain united for  sake of  country, society, future generations: Dr.Zahid

Minister of Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Professor Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain said, "Everyone has to work together to realize the dream of our Prime Minister Mr. Tarique Rahman of building a humane, modern and prosperous Bangladesh. There may be political differences, but we all have to remain united in the interest of the country, the interest of society and the interest of the next generation."
 
To build a society free from drugs, gambling, terrorism and social crimes, the administration as well as the common people must come forward. It is possible to eradicate these crimes by increasing awareness at every level of society and building social resistance. Therefore, everyone must remain united. If everyone is united, no criminal will be able to survive.
 
He made these remarks while addressing a public meeting and exchange of views organized in Nawabganj Upazila of Dinajpur on Friday  afternoon as the chief guest.
 
Dr. Zahid Hossain said, "I always speak out against drugs. Drugs destroy a nation, destitute a family and ruin the future of the young generation. Everyone should be vocal against those who are leading the society astray by dealing drugs, consuming drugs or organizing online and offline gambling dens."
 
Local political leaders, public representatives, representatives of various social and cultural organizations, and a large number of ordinary people were present at the event.
 
On the same day, cheque  worth Tk 3.39 crore were distributed among the family members of those who were injured and killed in road accidents in Dinajpur district through the BRTA Trustee Board. The check distribution ceremony was attended by the Minister of Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs, Professor Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain MP, as the chief guest.
 
The event was held on Friday (September 4) afternoon at the Kanchan-1 conference room of the Dinajpur Deputy Commissioner's Office, jointly organized by the district administration and BRTA Dinajpur Circle.
 
Present at the check distribution ceremony, chaired by Dinajpur Deputy Commissioner Md. Rafiqul Islam, were Jatiya Sangsad Whip and Dinajpur-4 MP Md. Akhtaruzzaman Mia, Dinajpur-1 MP Md. Manjurul Islam and Dinajpur-5 MP AZM Rezwanul Haque, Dinajpur Superintendent of Police (PPM) Md. Zedan Al Musa, District Council Administrator Md. Mofazzal Hossain Dulal, District BNP General Secretary Bakhtiar Ahmed Kochi, and others.
