
Body of elderly man recovered in Sirajdikhan

Police recovered the body of an elderly man with his hands, feet, and mouth tied at his residence in Sirajdikhan, Munshiganj. Preparations are underway to conduct an autopsy and send the body to the morgue at Munshiganj General Hospital.
The body was found lying on the floor of a room on the second floor of a two-storey building in Abirpara village of Rashunia Union under Sirajdikhan upazila around 11:30 AM on Wednesday, May 21. The deceased, Amir Sheikh (70), was the son of the late Korban Ali Sheikh of the same village.
Nasima Begum, a tenant living on the ground floor of the building, said she went upstairs in the morning to call the building owner, Amir Sheikh, to start the water pump. She saw him lying on the floor of a room adjacent to the stairs. Frightened, she screamed, prompting other tenants to rush to the scene. The police were immediately informed.
Sirajdikhan Police Station OC Shahed Al Mamun said the police reached the scene upon receiving the report from tenants and recovered the body. He confirmed that preparations are being made to send the body to Munshiganj General Hospital for postmortem examination.
The deceased lived alone on the second floor. He had four daughters, all of whom are married. His wife resides in Dhaka with one of their daughters.
