BNP leader Enamul returns home after 18 years by helicopter in Gazipur

S M Joherul Islam, Sreepur (Gazipur)

Enamul Haque Molla, former General Secretary of the Bormi Union Chhatra Dal in Sreepur Upazila of Gazipur and currently the President of the BNP’s Mecca Mospala Metropolitan Unit in Saudi Arabia, has returned to Bangladesh after 18 long years on Thursday.

Enamul landed near his family residence in Barkul village via helicopter. His extraordinary homecoming sparked an atmosphere of festivity throughout Bormi Union and neighboring areas, as hundreds gathered to welcome him.

Upon arrival, Enamul was warmly received with floral tributes by local dignitaries, BNP activists, and residents. The rare sight of a returning expatriate political leader being welcomed in such a grand fashion stirred considerable excitement and discussion in the area.

Speaking to the media, Enamul expressed his emotions, saying, “Words cannot describe the feeling of setting foot on my beloved motherland after so many years. The love and warmth I received from the people here is the greatest gift of my life.”

He added with visible emotion, “My mother endured the most hardship for me, and not being able to attend her funeral prayer remains the most painful chapter of my life.”

After stepping off the helicopter, Enamul first visited the family graveyard to offer prayers at the graves of his parents. He then met with party activists and community members, hosting them for a lunch gathering at his residence.

Observers believe his return could signal a new wave of political activity in the local BNP leadership.
