BMDA employee's body recovered in Sadullapur

Police recovered the body of Md. Johnny Babu (40), assistant treasurer of the Barendra Multipurpose Development Authority Sadullapur Upazila Zone.
His hanging body was recovered hanging from the fan of the Barendra Multipurpose Development Authority office room located in the Upazila Parishad premises around 10 pm on Friday. Johnny Baru is the son of Harun-ur-Rashid of Dharampur village in Bholahat upazila of Chapainawabganj. He lived with his wife and children in a rented house near the Upazila Parishad. Abu Taher Mia, the night watchman of that office, said that around 8 pm on Friday, Khalil Mia, an employee of a photostat shop at the Upazila intersection, knocked on the door of the office room of Assistant Treasurer Johnny Babu on the second floor of the Barendra Multipurpose Development Authority building. But when there was no response, Khalil Mia informed him about the matter. Later, he informed the Ansar battalion members stationed at the Upazila Parishad premises about the matter.
Sadullapur Police Station OC Tajuddin Khandaker said that after receiving the information, his body was recovered at night and taken to the police station. The body was sent to the Gaibandha General Hospital morgue for autopsy on Saturday. The deceased's son Nahid Hasan said that Khalil Mia had been pressuring his father for the money he owed for the past few days.
He probably went to his father's office several times on Friday for the money he owed. Relatives and colleagues of the deceased also said that a few days ago, Johnny Babu borrowed some money from Naju Mia, son of Bhola Mia of Joyenpur village in the upazila. But he could not repay the money for a long time. Meanwhile, the 'Dadan' businessman Naju, who did not get the money back, successfully took Johnny Babu's first wife away, allegedly recently.
