Bhola Independence Museum : A symbol of Bengali spirit and modern architecture

Bhola Independence Museum has become a witness of Bangladesh's independence. It is a repository of knowledge for the new generation. The visitors think that this three-storeyed modern architectural style and sight is a symbol of Bengali tradition and spirit.

This spectacular independence museum was built by Tofail Ahmed, one of the organizers of the Liberation War and the beloved former minister of Bangabandhu, the great hero of the 1969 mass uprising.

His Excellency President Abdul Hamid inaugurated it on January 25, 2018. Since then the number of visitors here is increasing day by day. Everyone, including tourists from different parts of the country, rush to the museum once they come to Bhola.

The museum was set up in Banglabazar, a suburb of the district city, which witnessed the era of liberation war (where more than three hundred freedom fighters and freedom-loving people died in the attack and frontal battle of Pak army). National leader Tofail Ahmed had been dreaming of building such a museum since long. Famous historian Dr. With the help of several researchers including Muntasir Mamun, its layout was developed over three consecutive years of planning.

Today, the museum has become one of the museums with relentless efforts. Anti-British movement, partition of the country, language movement, independence war, Bangabandhu's dream are all present in this museum to the new generation.
It has three galleries.

On one side, the first floor gallery has rare photographs, information on history, heritage, archeological artifacts, anti-British movement, 47 A country partition and language movement. On the other side are the library and the laboratory. Besides, there is a multimedia display hall room on the same floor. On the second floor, there are depictions of historical moments from the language movement to the liberation war. On the third floor there are United Front, Movement of 58, Pakistan Military Rule, Movement of 66, Mass Movement of 69, Election of 70, Speech of 7 March, War of 71, Rare photographs of Bangabandhu's sacrifice.

Besides, there is audio and video digital exhibition of all the speeches of Bangabandhu. Here is a photograph of the struggling life of Tofail Ahmed, a close companion of the Father of the Nation who witnessed all the democratic movements and achievements of the country. There is a photograph of Bir Shrestha Mustafa KamalVisitors can get any important information instantly using the digital touchscreen. Museum displays on information technology management also attract visitors. The liberation war and the country's history and traditions have been highlighted through photographers in the 'Freedom Museum'.

The museum is open for visitors from 11 am to 5 pm on other days except Thursday. Fatema Khanom Complex has been established on 62 bigha land in this sub-city Banglabazar area along with the museum due to the tireless efforts of former minister Tofail Ahmed. Here are the magnificent Fatema Khanam Mosque, 'Fatema Khanam Nursing Home', 'Banglabazar Fatema Khanam Degree College', 'Fatema Khanam Madhamik Balika Vidyalaya', 'Fatema Khanam Government Primary School', 'Fatema Khanam Shishu Parivar' and Fatema Khanam Mother and Child Welfare Hospital. Some service organizations.

Former Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, the founder of the Independence Museum and Member of Parliament for Bhola-1 Constituency, said, "I will not live for one day, history will remain." Through this museum, the young generation can learn about the liberation war and history of the country. People's lives will be improved when they come here.

How to go to Independence Museum: On the Dhaka-Bhola route, take a modern launch and get down directly at Bhola Kheyaghat or Ilishaghat. Now there is night and day launch connectivity. After that, if you go to Banglabazar via Birshrest Mustafa Kamal bus terminal by rickshaw or easy bike or CNG, you will see many places including the Independence Museum.

It is easy to go by bus. It takes only 20 minutes to reach the museum as it is built on the side of the Bhola-Charfashan road, 10 km from the district town, for easy transportation.
