Bangladesh Bank Governor Md. Mostakur Rahman and a high-level delegation from Ansar-VDP Development Bank held a courtesy meeting at the central bank headquarters to discuss the institution's comprehensive modernization, digital transformation, and expansion of modern banking services for members of Bangladesh Ansar and the Village Defence Party on Wednesday.
During the meeting, discussions focused on approving the pre-finance facility for the Ansar and VDP "Sanjibon Project," with the central bank governor assuring prompt approval following necessary procedures to boost financial inclusion and economic empowerment for force members.
Participants also emphasized accelerating the implementation of the Core Banking System (CBS) and addressing workforce needs. Authorities gave assurances that recruitment for 205 vacant positions will be completed through the Bankers' Selection Committee (BSC) within the next three months to strengthen the bank's technological capacity.
Additionally, the meeting addressed integrating the bank into national payment and clearing infrastructures—including BACH, NPSB, and BEFTN—to enable full digital banking services, allowing members and customers to conveniently receive salaries, execute direct fund transfers, and conduct secure electronic payments.
Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud, Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP and Chairman of Ansar-VDP Development Bank, and Bank Managing Director Mir Mofazzal Hossain attended the meeting, alongside Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governors Dr. Kabir Ahmed and Md. Sarwar Hossain.
