A colorful rally and discussion meeting was held in Bogra on the occasion of World Photography Day. The program was organized by the Bogra Photojournalist Association at around 10:30 am on Wednesday.

On the occasion of the day, a colorful rally was taken out from the Bogra Press Club premises in the morning. The rally circled various important roads of the city and ended at the Press Club premises. Journalists, photojournalists and politicians from various print and electronic media of Bogra, including people from different classes and professions, participated in the rally.

Later, a discussion meeting was held at the Bogra Press Club auditorium. Bogra Photo Journalist Association President Md. Shafiqul Islam Shafiq presided over the meeting, with Bogra City Administrator MR Islam Swadhin speaking as the chief guest. District Police Superintendent Mirza Sayem Mahmud, Daily Karatoya Editor Mozammel Haque Lalu, Bogra Press Club General Secretary Kalam Azad and District Jubo Dal President Jahangir Alam spoke as special guests.

In his speech as the chief guest, Bogra City Administrator MR Islam Swadhin said, "It is possible to present the history of a time and the real picture of society to future generations through photography. A photojournalist must always work with a sense of responsibility towards truth, justice and objectivity." He also emphasized the need to enhance the skills of photojournalists in line with the rapid changes in technology, as well as maintaining professional standards and ethics.

Speaking as a special guest, District Superintendent of Police Mirza Sayem Mahmud said, "A photo taken by a photojournalist can sometimes reveal the full reality of an incident to the public. Responsible photojournalism plays an important role in highlighting crimes, irregularities and irregularities in addition to playing a positive role in society." He called for maintaining professional responsibility, impartiality and human values in news gathering and photographing.

Mozammel Haque Lalu, editor of the Daily Karatoya, said, "Photos are of immense importance in newspapers. A good photo not only attracts the attention of the reader but also increases the reality of the news many times over. In the current era, as photos spread rapidly on social media and digital platforms, photojournalists need to be more careful and responsible."

Kalam Azad, general secretary of Bogra Press Club, said, "Photojournalists take risks and go to the scene to present the truth to the people. To further enrich this important branch of journalism, training, professional safety and mutual cooperation need to be increased."

The speakers at the meeting also said that photography is not just a medium for capturing images; it is one of the most powerful documents for preserving history, society, and time. A skilled photojournalist uses his camera to portray an event, a person's life and struggle, or the real picture of society. Which is often not possible to express even in a thousand words. Therefore, the role of photojournalists is very important in objective and responsible journalism.

District Jubo Dal Organizing Secretary Harun Ur Rashid Sujan, City Jubo Dal President Ahsan Habib Momi, General Secretary Adil Shahriar Gorki, Sadar Upazila Jubo Dal President Shri Atul Chandra Das, Bogra Press Club Joint General Secretary Saiful Islam, Bogra Photo Journalist Association General Secretary Sajjad Hossain Pallab, Former General Secretary Kausar Ullah Arif, Treasurer Mamunur Rashid Mamun, Members Abul Kalam Azad Thanda, Mohit Ul Alam Milon, Sirajul Islam Siraj, ATM Sadiqur Rahman Liton, Golzar Hossain Mithu and other members of the organization were present at the event.

Journalists from various print and electronic media in Bogra also participated in the event. The speakers expressed their commitment to enhance the professional status, safety and skills of photojournalists on World Photography Day, as well as to present true and objective news images.

At the event, the organization's president, Md. Shafiqul Islam Shafiq, personally handed over Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's photo album to the guests.
