Organized by the National Institute of Local Government (NILG) with the support of the Upazila administration, the inauguration ceremony of the month-long basic training course for the members of the Union Parishad village police force was held on Tuesday  at 10:30 am at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium.

The basic training course was inaugurated by the chief guest of the event, Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Muhammad Kamruzzaman (Joint Secretary).
Presided over by Muksudpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tasnim Akter and conducted by Upazila Youth Development Officer Sayed Uddin Ahmed, the special guests at the event were Gopalganj Superintendent of Police Md. Mizanur Rahman and Deputy Director of Gopalganj Local Government Bishwajit Kumar Pal (Deputy Secretary).

The welcome speech was delivered by the trainer of the event, Deputy Director of Gopalganj NILG Division Mohammad Moinul Hossain.

A total of 40 members of the village police force from 1 municipality and 16 unions of Muksudpur Upazila have participated in the month-long basic training course.
It is to be noted that at the same time, the month-long basic training program for the village police force has been inaugurated in 15 upazilas across the country.

Awareness will be created on the following topics during the month-long basic training course for the village police force members:
Birth and death registration, the importance of birth and death registration, and the responsibilities of the concerned officials and employees in light of laws and regulations; the responsibilities of the Union Parishad and the standing committee on birth and death registration; the role of village police in birth and death registration; the duties and responsibilities of the village police force; their role in maintaining law and order and other areas.
