Barguna District Sramik League Convener arrested

Barguna District Sramik League Convener Abdul Halim Molla (52) has been arrested on Saturday midnight.
He was arrested by Barguna Thana Police from the Lakurtala area of Sadar Upazila.
The matter has been confirmed by Barguna Thana OC Dewan Jaglul Hasan. The arrested Halim Molla is the son of Mosharraf Hossain Molla of South Barguna area, Ward No. 6 of Barguna Municipality.
According to Barguna Thana sources, Halim Molla had long been involved in creating political unrest and deteriorating law and order in the area. An arrest warrant had been issued against him in a case filed under the Special Powers Act. The case was filed on February 4, 2025, at Barguna Thana. He was named in the FIR as an accused.
Barguna Thana OC Dewan Jaglul Hasan said, Halim Molla has multiple cases against him under the Special Powers Act, extortion, Explosives Act, and Narcotics Control Act. In total, there are 9 cases against him. After initial interrogation, he will be sent to court on Sunday morning.
