
Bangladesh Jute Association's executive committee election held

The election of the Executive Committee (2025-27) of the Bangladesh Jute Association (BJA) has been completed.
The election of the members was held at the organization's Narayanganj office on Monday afternoon. Khandaker Alamgir Kabir was elected as the Chairman, S.M. Saiful Islam Pias as the Senior Vice Chairman and Md. Tarek Afzal as the Vice Chairman unopposed.
Earlier, on October 18, out of 25 candidates from the General Group, 12 were elected and 6 from the Associate Group were elected unopposed, forming a total of 18-member Executive Committee.
The members of the executive committee are, Md. Farhad Ahmed Akand, Shamim Ahmed, S.M. Moniruzzaman (Palash), Khairuzzaman, Md. Qutub Uddin, Sheikh Imam Hossain, S.M. Hafizur Rahman, Badrul Alam (US), H.M. Prince Mahmud, Md. Tofazzal Hossain, Md. Iqbal Hossain Bhuiyan, Md. Noor Islam, Md. Alamgir Khan, Ranjan Kumar Das and S.M. Saiful Islam.
Newly- elected chairman Khandaker Alamgir Kabir said that jute traders and exporters are in crisis due to the current suspension of raw jute exports. Many jute traders are burdened with debt. We will work together to resolve their issues.
