Badu’s Panel wins Hosiery Assoc election

In the most prestigious election of Narayanganj's hosiery sector, the panel of the popular leader of Noyamati and Ukilpara, Alhaj Baduzzaman Badu, has emerged victorious. The results of the Bangladesh Hosiery Association Board of Directors Election for the 2025-27 term have been announced. A wave of joy is sweeping across the hosiery areas, including Noyamati, Deovog, Tanbazar, and Ukilpara.
On Tuesday midnight, the election commission announced the results for 18 positions, where 36 candidates had contested. In the election, 18 candidates participated from the Hosiery Owners’ Unity Panel, 14 from the Independent Hosiery Owners’ Unity Forum, and 4 as independent candidates.
In the Associate Group, 6 candidates were elected. From the Hosiery Owners’ Unity Panel, Saiful Islam Hiru Sheikh (New Sheikh Hosiery) secured 862 votes, Saeed Ahmed Swapan (Seheli Hosiery & Garments) received 719 votes, Alhaj Md. Nasir Sheikh (Nasir Hosiery) got 702 votes, and Nasim Ahmed (Gazi Hosiery) secured 498 votes. Additionally, independent candidates Abdus Sobhan Talukdar (Ador Hosiery) and Md. Billal Hossain (Seven Star Hosiery) won with 575 and 495 votes, respectively.
In the General Group, 12 candidates were elected. From the Hosiery Owners’ Unity Panel, Alhaj Baduzzaman Badu (Baduzzaman Textile) received 893 votes, Md. Abdul Hai (New Brishti Textile) secured 827 votes, Md. Mizanur Rahman (Simon Hosiery) got 805 votes, Md. Parvez Mallick (New Lipi Hosiery & Garments) received 787 votes, Abdus Sabur Khan (Sakline Textile) secured 783 votes, Haji Md. Shaheen Hossain (Shaheen Traders) got 751 votes, Md. Ataur Rahman (Gani Hosiery & Garments) secured 727 votes, Alhaj Md. Monir Hossain (New Monir Hosiery) received 720 votes, Md. Dulal Mallick (Ador Traders) got 690 votes, Md. Masudur Rahman (Abir Fashion) received 605 votes, and Baidyanath Poddar (New Durstha Hosiery) secured 572 votes. Additionally, from the Independent Hosiery Owners’ Unity Forum, Fateh Mohammad Reza (Fateh Hosiery) won with 670 votes.
Regarding the election, the president of the Hosiery Association Election Commission, Anisul Islam Sani, who is also the Joint Convenor of the JASAS National Executive Committee, stated that a fair and impartial election was conducted. Voters cast their votes in a joyful atmosphere without any untoward incidents. A total of 6 candidates were elected from the Associate Group and 12 from the General Group. The election commission announced the preliminary results on the same night.
Earlier, the voting process took place in a festive environment on Monday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM without any breaks at the under-construction building of Narayanganj Club for the Bangladesh Hosiery Association Board of Directors Election 2025-27. Out of a total of 1,159 voters, 1,113 votes were cast, reflecting a 96.03% voter turnout. The election was held in a celebratory atmosphere.
