
Assurance of continued support for development of Sylhet by US Acting Ambassador

Tracy Ann Jacobson, Chargé d'Affaires and Acting Ambassador of the United States to Bangladesh, paid a courtesy visit to the Administrator of Sylhet City Corporation and the Divisional Commissioner of Sylhet, Khan Mohammad Reza-un-Nabi on Tuesday noon.
She met with the Administrator at the City Corporation headquarters and held a discussion with City Corporation officials.
During the meeting, Sylhet City Corporation Administrator and Divisional Commissioner Khan Mohammad Reza-un-Nabi described various activities of the Corporation and sought U.S. cooperation in several areas. He also thanked the Acting Ambassador for the United States’ continued support in the development of Bangladesh.
The U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Tracy Ann Jacobson assured that, as in the past, the United States would continue to support the development of Sylhet. Highlighting the friendly relationship between Bangladesh and the United States, she expressed hope that this relationship would be further strengthened in the future.
Sylhet City Corporation's Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Rezai Rafine Sarkar, Secretary Md. Ashiq Noor, Chief Engineer Nur Azizur Rahman, Chief Health Officer Dr. Md. Zahidul Islam, and Chief Waste Management Officer Lt. Col. (Retd.) Eklim Abedin. U.S. Embassy Economic Officer D. Richard Rasmussen and Political Specialist Firoz Ahmed, among others spoke.
