Abnormal man's dead body recovered from ditch in Ashulia

Police recovered the body of a mentally unstable man named Majid (48) from a ditch under the Baipail Bridge in Ashulia.
The body was found floating in the water beneath the bridge on Tuesday morning.
The deceased, Majid, was a resident of Meghai Union in Kazipur Upazila of Sirajganj district and the son of Monsher.
According to the police, locals reported that the man had been roaming the area in a mentally unstable state for several months. Initial investigations suggest that he may have fallen from the bridge, leading to his death. However, the exact cause of death is yet to be determined, and the body is being sent to the hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Sub-Inspector Jahangir Alam of Ashulia Police Station stated that local residents noticed the body floating in the water and called the national emergency helpline 999. Police later arrived at the spot, recovered the body, and identified the deceased. Legal procedures will be followed based on the findings of the post-mortem report he added.
