
461 GDs in 4 months lead to recovery of 200 lost mobile phones in Lalmonirhat

From January to April of this year, a total of 461 general diaries were filed for lost mobile phones in Lalmonirhat .
Police recovered 200 of those phones and handed them over to their rightful owners. Among them, 38 phones were recovered in January, 62 in February, 56 in March, and 44 in April.
Lalmonirhat District Superintendent of Police Md. Tariqul Islam said, two months after losing his phone, a high school teacher named Golam Mostafa expressed his joy upon getting it back. The teacher had bought the phone by saving bits from his salary. After losing it, he couldn’t afford another expensive phone. He thanked the district police after getting his phone back.
Small trader Abdul Karim said, “I had given up hope of getting my favorite phone back. One day, I suddenly received a call from the SP office. Police handed me the phone in person. I’m very happy.”
The lost phones were recovered using information technology based on general diary entries filed at Lalmonirhat Sadar, Aditmari, Kaliganj, Hatibandha, and Patgram police stations.
