Three leaders of Chhatra Dal have been expelled in Mirsarai of Chattogram on charges of breaching party discipline and engaging in terrorist activities.on Monday night.
This expulsion order was announced in a press release signed by Nazim Uddin, Office Secretary of Chattogram North District Chhatra Dal.
The expelled leaders are Injamamul Haque Imon, Member Secretary of Mirsarai Municipality Chhatra Dal; Shamim Hossain, Senior Vice-President of Nizampur College Chhatra Dal; and Naeem Sarkar, a leader of Katachhara Union Chhatra Dal of the upazila.
The press release stated, “For terrorist activities and breach of party discipline, the three leaders of Chhatra Dal have been expelled from the party including their primary membership. Chattogram North District Chhatra Dal President Tokibul Hasan Chowdhury Taki and General Secretary Sarwar Hossain Rubel have already implemented this decision. The party will not take any responsibility for any misconduct by the expelled leaders. All levels of Chhatra Dal leaders and activists have been instructed not to maintain any organizational relations with them. If in the future, they are accused of being involved in any illegal activities using the party identity, law enforcement agencies have been urged to take necessary legal action without showing any leniency.”
Recently expelled Mirsarai Municipality Chhatra Dal Member Secretary Injamamul Haque Imon said, this expulsion order is conspiratorial and motivated, and has been taken ignoring the opinions of grassroots leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal.
Most recently, on last Sunday morning, a scuffle broke out between the students of the 24th and 25th batches at Nizampur Government College. In the afternoon, after a student was picked up from the Domdoma area, two groups of Chhatra Dal took positions face-to-face at the college and Mokas Road. Later in the evening, clashes erupted between the two groups. At that time, allegations were made of an attack using (firework) launchers. The entire area was gripped by panic. It is assumed that this expulsion order has been issued centering on this incident.
